Areas of training include Aircraft Manufacturing, Aircraft Systems, Composites and Aircraft Maintenance to EASA standards. Significant to Coleg Cambria is the Engineering Centre of Excellence, which was built on the partnership arrangements with local industry. A key partnership arrangement that has significant benefits for the wider business community in Wales and the North West England is the Learning partnership Coleg Cambria has with Airbus, Magellan Aerospace, Thomas Cook, Raytheon and Marshalls. A recent sector leading example of collaborative working and forming excellent relationships is the work completed to date linked to the Credit and Qualification Framework , whereby a structure has been put in place to deliver training flexibly, to meet the needs of the Aerospace industry, both in terms of existing and emerging new technologies, for example Advanced Materials to support the new A350 aircraft. The Aerospace/Cambria partnership has for many years been the ‘benchmark’ for apprenticeship training with the model being adopted for many companies such as Airbus, Magellan, Thomas Cook and many other suppliers to the Aerospace industry and aircraft maintenance organisations. Along with an award winning apprenticeship programme that encompasses many learners post 16, Coleg Cambria have continued to provide training for the Aerospace sector in terms of internal training and the extremely successful Existing Employee Apprenticeship. The collaborative working models has enabled excellent working relationships to be embedded that have resulted in the creation of exciting jobs within the sector. The Aerospace / Coleg Cambria partnership arrangements have also assisted Coleg Cambria in terms of internal performance management systems and the college as a result are a sector leading college. A further endorsement of Cambria's support to Training and Development within the Aerospace sector was a 2013 successful Queens Anniversary Prize awarded to the college for its partnership working with the Aerospace industry.
