I am delighted to invite you to the start of a new Supply Chain Workshop Programme on the 9th of July 2015. NWAA met last month with a number of manufacturing companies to agree the direction of this new supply chain workshop programme and to gain their commitment to contribute to it. The companies agreed that it was important that we come together to influence the UK strategy developed by the Aerospace Growth Partnership, and also to develop the key priorities for how NWAA can support the supply chain through skills, innovation and business improvement.
The theme of the new Supply Chain Workshop Programmes is therefore twofold;
Develop Strategy: Understanding and defining the key priorities for the North West’s Aerospace Industry aligned to the key themes of the Aerospace Growth Partnership (Manufacturing, Technology, Supply Chain, Skills and Engagement). The aim is to show NWAA members what is happening at a National level and then, through interactive workshops, understand what our members consider to be the priorities for the North West. NWAA will then aim to influence National and Regional Government to ensure the North West Aerospace Industry gets the right support.
Develop a New Supply Chain Programme: NWAA will seek Members views on the future size and shape of a new business support programme for the North West’s Aerospace Supply Chain. This new programme will be based on the National SC21 programme and enhanced with support for Training and Coaching to help organisations make the improvements required to be competitive in a global market. Members will be able to influence the key areas of focus (e.g. Lean, Project & Risk Management, Innovation, Process Control, Sales, Export) that they think should be part of a new supply chain programme.
I’m really looking forward to hearing the Members views on the key themes of Manufacturing, Technology, Supply Chain, Skills and Engagement and hope you will join us at the launch of our new supply chain workshops.
