For 2013 we ran a new category to our awards- the Business University Challenge. Which aims to give both business apprentices and university students the opportunity to take part in on of the categories. Due to its success and fantastic feedback from the candidates it was also run for this years Awards.
The event ran on February the 4th 2015 and was hosted by Preston’s College.
The event was open to North West universities and aerospace and defence companies, they were asked to submit teams of three into the competition, each team must have an average age of 22 years or under.

University of Salford
The 8 teams competed for the title during a full day event.
They went head to head in a series of mini challenges which had been put together by NWAA to test their skills in negotiation, communication, innovation and presentations.
They were also assessed and awarded points from our event judges based on their planning, leadership, teamwork and performance skills.
The top 3 teams were awarded invitations to the 2014 New Talent Awards evening where the winning team was announced and presented with the £1500 prize money. The top 3 teams for 2014 included:
3rd place- Hycrome (Europe) Ltd
2nd place- Safran Aircelle
1st place- University of Central Lancashire
Two prizes for individual prizes were also awarded a £200 cheque and trophy prize, these awards for 2014 went to:
Outstanding Leadership- Alex Todd- Paradigm Precision
Outstanding Professional Excellence-Oliver Cowley- Topping- Magellan Aerospace
