Cutwel Take Off with the North West Aerospace Alliance
Cutwel, a leading tooling supplier for the UK & Ireland, have now been a member of the NWAA (North West Aerospace Alliance) for over a year and are proud to be working alongside Europe’s largest aerospace group to help them continue their growth within this industry.
Aerospace companies in the North West contribute over £7 billion to the UK economy, this accounts for one quarter of the total UK aerospace turnover. NWAA are a key industry organisation in the region, representing and uniting companies and organisations involved in the aerospace sector supply chain. As Cutwel now has such a large range of specialist tooling that is dedicated to aerospace applications, joining the NWAA was seen as the ideal opportunity to showcase Cutwel as one of the major suppliers of tooling for this industry.
Over the past year the NWAA has helped Cutwel by distributing Aerospace tooling news to their network, especially utilising the regular Plane Talk magazine as a prime platform for any content. Cutwel also benefit from the excellent networking opportunities that come with their affiliation, these are provided by regular NWAA events.
One of these events is the Annual Conference for the NWAA, happening this year on the 12th of May at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Blackburn. Sponsors can take advantage of this opportunity to network and to raise their profile amongst key industry organisations. The event will include industry expert guest speakers such as Andy Moran, Head of Airbus Supplier Development, on topics such as Manufacturing, Technology, Supply Chains and Skills. Cutwel will be attending the event and tickets are still available, please see the NWAA website for information on how to book.

Another NWAA event is the New Talent awards, a celebration of emerging talent within the aerospace industry, last held on the 3rd of March 2016. The new talent awards recognise the achievements of young apprentices and trainees from the north west of England’s aerospace and defence industry. In further support of young people wanting to work in the aerospace industry, NWAA’s business university challenge brings together apprentices and students from universities and colleges across the region to compete head to head in a series of challenges. Cutwel hope to take part in the event next year as they are a great advocate of apprenticeships in their business.
By joining the NWAA, Cutwel’s reputation within the aerospace industry has only strengthened and they advise anyone within the North West who operates in this sector to get in touch on 01772 648800 and speak to the NWAA team for more information on joining.
