The College invested £13m into their new state-of-the-art iSTEM facility, one of the largest facilities of its kind in the country, to equip learners with the skills desired by local employers. The iSTEM facility provides learners with real life working environments, to not only give them the knowledge they need, but the skills to be able to advance in their career.
Preston’s College Aeronautical Engineering learners, ranging from Level 3 to HND level with top up options available, are able to work on a fully functioning aircraft within the iSTEM facility to gain industry skills and experience. Studying Aeronautical Engineering at Preston’s College also allows learners to specialise in vocational areas of their choice.
Jonathan Coppell, studying HND Aeronautical Engineering at Preston’s College, said: ‘I chose to study Aeronautical Engineering at Preston’s College as the course allows me to learn the technical skills and experience of working on a fully functional aircraft as I would working in the industry.
‘The tuition fees are much cheaper than going to university, but I will still get the same level of qualifications when I complete the course. I also have opportunities to put my skills into practice in real working environments, which means that I am able to learn valuable practical skills alongside the theoretical frameworks of the course.’
