Dear UK Aerospace Member,

You may recently have received one or more requests for data which were sent to UK aerospace members.   These are separate pieces of work with distinctly different purposes, and I encourage you to complete each of these if contacted.

Each of these support the development of initiatives to benefit UK aerospace, and your input is valuable.

UK Civil Aerospace supply chain study

This questionnaire has been sent by Ricardo Energy & Environment on behalf of the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).  This study is also supported by the Aerospace Growth Partnership (AGP), ADS, the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) and the Regional Aerospace Alliances (RAAs).

With the expectation that the global aerospace market is to be worth over $5tn by the 2030s, we are keen to ensure the UK civil aerospace supply chain best positioned to benefit from the opportunity and secure the highest work share possible. The first step of this is to understand better the current position and views of the UK supply chain.  The results of the survey will be used to understand how the UK supply chain is positioned to take advantage of this growth potential or, conversely, where there may be opportunities for support mechanisms to be developed to enable growth to take place.

UKTI and ADS – supplier directory for Airline Campaign

UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and ADS are creating a supplier directory to detail companies’ specific capabilities for their Airline Campaign, which also includes ADS’ Aircraft Interiors and MROL groups. This directory will provide us with a better understanding of the aircraft interiors UK market, as well as promoting the UK aircraft interiors supply chain to airlines and OEMs around the world. The directory is part of “Exporting is GREAT”, the Government's initiative to inspire and support exporters from the UK.

Evaluation of the aerospace R&D programme

UK aerospace members receiving funding from the aerospace R&D programme will also have been contacted by BIS or the ATI to provide data and case studies on their R&D projects.  The information will be used as part of the evaluation of the programme, in line with the methodology set out in the scoping evaluation document]

Each of these requests will provide us with valuable data which will help inform initiatives underway to support UK aerospace and I would strongly encourage you to respond.
