The CERATIZIT Group has become stronger than ever with the integration of the Besigheim-based precision tool manufacturer KOMET, now employing 9000 people across the Group. The Group will showcase its new, dynamic structure at AMB 2018. "KOMET" has become one of the four flagship brands in machining, alongside "Cutting Solutions by CERATIZIT", "Klenk" and "WNT". This new addition has made the technology leader CERATIZIT a full-service provider in all areas of machining – a fact that will be plain to see at two trade fair stands in Stuttgart: in Hall 1 on Stand B10/12 and in the CERATIZIT Jacques Lanners Hall (Hall 3) on Stand B11.
Visitors to this year's trade fair, the leading international trade fair for the industry, will have the opportunity to see comprehensive manufacturing expertise on both CERATIZIT stands. In Hall 1, the company will present exciting live shows and innovative product launches, concluding with the reveal of a technical world first in turning applications. Those who are looking for real innovation are sure to find it here.
In Hall 3, which as of this year is named after the chairman of the CERATIZIT Executive Board Jacques Lanners, CERATIZIT will be presenting its tooling and manufacturing expertise in a variety of sectors, including the automotive powertrain sector. Across three areas, visitors will experience how the latest tool technology can increase productivity and quality in "Cylinder head/engine block machining", "Turbocharger manufacturing" and "Machining common rail and crankshafts". CERATIZIT and flagship brand KOMET will demonstrate their expertise and introduce their latest solutions for the automotive industry.
The 100th anniversary drill – the KUB 100 – is another of the highlights waiting to be discovered on Stand B11 in the Jacques Lanners Hall. The KUB 100 was the result of a joint development project by CERATIZIT and KOMET and shows how the team has successfully integrated in a short period of time. It is safe to say that the tool produced as a result of this project represents the cutting edge in indexable insert drilling, providing excellent performance, handling, process capability and efficiency.
The tool developers at Cutting Solutions by CERATIZIT will also be bringing the MaxiMill 491 to AMB. The double-sided 90° shoulder milling system impresses with incredibly straightforward handling and inserts that can be changed quickly on the machine itself. The system has become a best-seller, and with good reason: it is the only system that, with 8 useable cutting edges per indexable insert, can create a precise 90° profile on the workpiece. The addition of the 9 mm size means the system now offers even more flexibility.
WNT, another flagship brand of the CERATIZIT Group, will also present their innovative machining solutions in the Jacques Lanners Hall. The most notable innovations can be found among the new tools for hard machining. As well as a professional tool for trochoidal rough machining in hardened material applications, WNT also has the perfect tool for finishing, plus new drilling tools and a multitool for drilling, countersinking and threading in hard machining applications ≥ 58 HRC up its sleeve. However, WNT has also raised the stakes in sliding head tooling, and will be presenting new tooling solutions to significantly increase the productivity of sliding head lathes.
Last but not least, Klenk, the fourth flagship brand, will also be exhibiting on CERATIZIT stand B11 in Hall 3. As a specialist in tools for machining CFK, titanium, aluminium and steel, the focus will mainly be on industry-specific solutions for the aerospace sector. As well as an innovative countersink, Klenk will also present many other high-quality special tools that are sure to be of interest to companies operating in the aerospace industry.
