MSP focus on improving manufacturing productivity at the NWAA Annual Conference

Earlier this month, MSP’s Technical Director, Peter Hammond, spoke at the North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA) Annual conference about the need to improve manufacturing productivity and part quality.

MSP specialise in world class precision software and part manufacturing solutions - revolutionising the way the advanced manufacturing industry make and measure parts around the world. In his presentation, Peter detailed how the supply chain needs to adapt to increase productivity and meet ever increasing demand. In particular, he discussed the variety of problems aerospace manufacturers face and how automating each stage of the manufacturing process could remove any error and solve common or complex issues.

The conference, which was themed around ‘Preparing for a new era’, was the NWAA’s sixth annual conference. It explored the future for the UK aerospace and defence industries and what challenges they face including digitalisation, new technology and geopolitical pressures.

Speaking after the event, Peter commented: “The conference provided a valuable insight into the future of the aerospace industry and I am delighted to have had the opportunity to contribute to this. Despite the challenges, the industry is always advancing and I look forward to what’s next”.

MSP, who were also Platinum sponsors of the conference, will demonstrate how to solve some of the problems Peter discussed in his presentation at a technical event they are hosting in the coming weeks.

Taking place at the Renishaw Innovation Centre on the 5th June, their Technical seminar titled ‘Industry Challenges: Machining the Perfect Part’ promises to be an insightful event where attendees will learn how to overcome a variety of key manufacturing challenges. This will include how to eliminate manual error, machine error, part setup error and CMM backlogs from the manufacturing process within various industries including composites, aerospace and defence.

Peter continues: “Throughout our 17 year history, we have solved many common and complex manufacturing problems and, as a result, have gained a huge amount of knowledge on how to achieve precision within the industry. These technical sessions are a great platform for us to share this expertise and help other members of the industry achieve error-free manufacturing processes”

Registration is still open for this event and can be done through the company’s website:
