Graduates and Undergraduates

Foundation Degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering students

The European Centre for Aerospace Training (ECAT), a CAA approved EASA 147 training organisation, capable of delivering EASA part 66 A1/B1 modules, also provides Higher Education training in Aircraft Maintenance via its Foundation Degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering validated by MMU. ECAT is looking for a period of work placements for 1 or 2 students per company, which would be undertaken during summer ’09.

The main benefits of taking on a student for work placement are

• most students  already possess aptitude for aircraft engineering having progressed from the college’s BTEC National Diploma in Aerospace Engineering

•  after their study they will have both work experience and academic ability ,up to BSc(Hons) level (BSc to be validated in April),meaning they will be able to immediately take up a graduate training position

•  they already possess some aptitude for aircraft engineering and experience of work on  the college’s own fully operational  Jetstream 31 aircraft

• they will be at the level of Incorporated Engineer and more likely to access CPD delivered by the company
