Our message is don’t wait until sustainable practices and net zero strategies are mandated\, get ahead of the curve and do them now. \n  \nEvent times: 10am – 1pm \nAt 9.30am and 1pm – There will be an opportunity for a number of delegates to have a 30-minute tour of the Lancashire Energy HQ\, including the state-of-the-art energy and engineering training centre\, and the onsite Nuclear Power Plant Simulator. Please indicate at time of booking which tour you prefer AM or PM. \n10am – 10.30am – Registration and Networking \n10.30am – Welcome from Sustainably Speaking host\, Ben Beetham Sustainable Energy First \n10.40am – Michael Abbott – Sustainable Energy First CEO \n11.00am – approx – Esther Griffin – Content Coms Account Director and Content Writer – ‘Watch your language’ Greenwashing \n11.20am – approx until 12.30pm – Panel Discussion: Greenwashing\, Scope Emissions and Best Practices in Business \n  \nIn the introduction for the panel discussion\, we will mention the challenge of measuring carbon emissions and how that’s broken down into different scopes 1\, 2 and 3. To start and create a context for the audience and give examples and an explanation of each scope\, we will refer to the different panel members. \n  \nScope 1 emissions are those that come directly from sources owned or controlled by your organisation. Using B&FC (Kerry and Lisa) as an example\, the efforts they have made to reduce the emissions from the college (harvesting rainwater etc) \nScope 2 emissions are indirect emissions arising from your organisation’s consumption of purchased energy. Phil and Angela could talk about this from the usage and reduction of energy. \nScope 3 emissions are those arising from sources connected to a business\, rather than from the business itself. Typically\, trickier to measure. Categorised into ‘upstream’ and ‘downstream’\, part of this being transport for deliveries and employees commuting to work. With this we could refer to Jane Cole about the electrification of the Blackpool Transport fleet. With Scope 3 also essentially being a company’s supply chain – Sophie Addison would be great to provide details of this from both sides of the supply chain. \n  \nPanel members confirmed – Angela Jones (Director of Energy Management)\, Phil Richards (Head of ESG)\, Jane Cole (MD at Blackpool Transport)\, Kerry Whittle (Head of capital projects and maintenance at B&FC)\, Lisa Breeze (Director of Estates)\, Sophie Addison (Marketing & CSR Director at Addison Group) \n  \n12.30pm – 1pm – Networking\, lunch & close \n  \nHow do I register and is there a cost? \nClick HERE to register for the event.
