B&FC Apprentice Takes National Crown!
A B&FC learner has been crowned ‘Apprentice of the Year’ at the UK Project Controls Expo.
Ellie James (pictured right with the event hosts) is a third-year Project Controls Professional degree apprentice who received this national accolade – sponsored by the Ministry of Defence – at a glitzy Wembley Stadium ceremony.
Ellie is part of BAE Systems’ first Project Controls apprentice cohort in the Maritime Services Business Unit and was recognised for her professionalism, commitment and contribution to the organisation.
Just six months into her role, she had volunteered to help deliver the first-ever BAE Systems PM Awards by working alongside colleagues across the business, including the Global PM Director.
Her positive approach, willingness to learn and focus on continuous improvement were all highlighted as key factors in her success.
The Project Controls Expo is the world’s largest event dedicated to best practice and innovation in project controls, bringing together industry professionals across a range of sectors.
Andy Smith, Programme Leader in B&FC’s Project Management Centre of Excellence, said:
- Ellie’s achievement is absolutely outstanding – and a worthy recognition of her capabilities and professional approach to everything that she does.
Winning this national award is reward for all the hard work she applies to her apprenticeship and also highlights the strength of the partnership between B&FC and BAE Systems.
We are all very proud of Ellie who has led by example to set an incredibly high standard for other apprentices to emulate.
