A B&FC apprentice has been crowned Apprentice of the Year at the Women in Tech Excellence Awards 2025.

Felicity Bruce (pictured) is a Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions Software Engineering apprentice with Vodafone UK.

She was selected as the winner from a field of nine shortlisted candidates and presented with this award at the Hilton Park Lane, London, last Friday night.

Felicity has contributed significantly to the development of the My Vodafone app. She also undertakes voluntary work teaching coding to students aged 4-16 and is a powerful advocate for apprenticeship programmes.

Dr Colette Mazzola-Randles, B&FC Operations Manager for Apprenticeships, had nominated Felicity for this award.

“What an incredible achievement!”, she said.

“Seeing our apprentices grow, thrive and achieve their dreams is honestly the best part of my job.

“Moments like this remind me why I love what I do, supporting talented individuals like Felicity and watching them flourish is truly rewarding.

“Felicity, thank you for letting me be part of your journey. Your hard work, determination and passion for tech inspires us all. I can’t wait to see what you do next!”.

The Women in Tech Excellence Awards is now in its ninth year. It celebrates the efforts and achievements of the women who still make up a minority of the tech workforce in the UK.

Well done to Felicity and everyone involved in securing further national recognition for B&FC!
