Investment and acquisition enhance machinery capabilities at Brookhouse Aerospace
Recent financial investments and strategic acquisitions have expanded and enhanced machinery capabilities at Build to Print aero-structures specialist, Brookhouse Aerospace.
Investment of over £500,000 in new CNC machinery has enabled Brookhouse to provide increased high volume, lights-out machining capabilities to the sector, and deliver a wider range of products to high levels of accuracy, at speed.
Capabilities now include the ability to manufacture high precision hard and soft metal components, alongside traditional prismatic parts. Transfer of traditionally machined components to a more efficient multi-axis pallet loading system, has also reduced manufacturing hours, enabling contract pricing to be held.
“This is all about supporting market demand ramp-up, by providing increased levels of efficiency and vertical integration,” said Simon Smith, Business Development Director at Brookhouse Aerospace. “Added value for our customers comes from the delivery of a wide range of capabilities, in a timely, reliable and efficient manner. Immediate capacity, when and where needed.”
In addition to the recent investment, Brookhouse has also acquired Wolverhampton-based Parker Precision, which specialises in providing precision engineering capabilities across a range of industry sectors, including aerospace.
The acquisition diversifies and enhances Brookhouse machining capabilities across Precision CNC Turning, CNC Milling, and 5-Axis Grinding.
“Welcoming Parker Precision to the Brookhouse group builds on our strategy of providing a complete supply chain solution, and demonstrates our commitment to building a leading mid-market company servicing aerospace and defence industries,” added Simon.
In addition to enhanced machining capabilities, Brookhouse also offer full CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspection capabilities and offline programming by highly skilled and experienced programming engineers.
Across the wider business, Brookhouse recently opened up its surface treatment capabilities to external customers in response to increased demand across the aero-structures sector. To provide increased capacity to the market, the company realigned its surface treatments production capabilities, which previously were dedicated solely to treating its own manufactured parts, to offer expertise to the wider supply chain.
Specialising in aero-structure composites, fabrication, machining, treatments and engineering, Brookhouse Aerospace expanded in 2024 with the addition of a brand-new 41,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and head office, to support long-term growth plans.
