Green Shield Group delivers 818kWp rooftop solar for Ennovi’s Arbroath manufacturing site
Fully funded Power Purchase Agreement gives precision engineering manufacturer 25 years of low-carbon electricity without capital outlay.
Green Shield Group has delivered an 818.09 kWp rooftop solar PV installation at Ennovi’s precision-engineering facility in Arbroath, Scotland, under a fully funded Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) arranged through Two Blues Solar.
Ennovi manufactures precision-engineered components for the automotive, aerospace and medical sectors, with a core specialism in the fast-growing electric vehicle market. The company has run an internal sustainability programme since 2019, and this installation marks a significant step in that decarbonisation journey. For a manufacturer supplying the electric vehicle industry, on-site solar brings the same low-carbon thinking driving its customers’ products into its own operations.
The system is expected to generate around 630 MWh of electricity annually, supplying approximately 17% of the site’s total electricity demand and saving an estimated 111.6 tonnes of CO2 each year. Projected modelling suggests cumulative energy cost savings could exceed £420,000 within the first 10 years of the 25-year agreement. Under the PPA, Two Blues Solar funds and owns the system, with Ennovi purchasing the electricity generated on site. Green Shield Group designed and installed the project, and continues to support its operation.
