Green Shield Group backs Landmarc charity golf day as £33,500 is raised for SSAFA
Green Shield Group sponsored the seventh hole at Landmarc’s charity golf day at Bowood Golf Course on 8 October, an event that raised £33,500 for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. Businesses and supporters from across the UK took part, with sponsorships, donations and fundraising on the day all adding to the total. The money will help SSAFA continue its practical, emotional and financial support for serving personnel, veterans and their families.
Among those taking part was former Royal Marine Commando and SAS: Who Dares Wins star Jason Fox, who spoke to the Green Shield Group team about why the charity’s work matters.
“SSAFA is an absolutely amazing military charity,” he said. “It supports veterans and their dependants who are going through difficult times.”
Ryan Scholz, Aftercare Lead at Reds10, also joined the team on the day.
“It was a brilliant day for a great cause, and a chance to introduce the Landmarc team to GSG and the amazing work they do with solar and batteries,” he said.
The golf day is part of Landmarc’s seven-year partnership with SSAFA, which also includes support for the charity’s transitional mentoring service and annual conference, with Landmarc employees volunteering as mentors to help people leaving the forces settle into civilian life.
Green Shield Group would like to thank Landmarc for organising such a well-run day, and everyone who played, donated and helped raise such an impressive total.
