The City of Mentor, a regional economic hub just 20 minutes east of Cleveland, Ohio, is home to two-hundred plus manufacturing firms, specializing in biotech/medtech, aerospace, advanced and precision manufacturing, and automotive supply chain, among other industry clusters. Mentor is Ohio’s 5th largest manufacturing center and 6th largest retail center, encompassing a population approaching 50,000 with a daytime population two times that number.
For the last five years, the City of Mentor has made annual visits to the United Kingdom, including a recent April visit to companies affiliated with the Northwest Aerospace Alliance (NWAA), to foster relationships with business incubators, trade associations (Medilink Midlands, East Midlands and Birmingham Chambers of Commerce), and academic institutions among others to help companies that may be associated with these entities further explore in the US market. We specialize in a concierge-based approach to business relationship building and investment attraction, partnering with internationally known entities like NASA Glenn, and companies across the region to find appropriate matchmaking opportunities for international companies and providing soft-landing experience and various incentives to companies looking to establish an American presence.
We are particularly interested in developing relationships with companies and organization in the aerospace sector to see how we can address their desires, concerns, and questions directly. Recently, a UK company, Bloc Digital, an industry-leading 3D content, data visualization and alternative reality solutions firm that was born out of employees from Rolls Royce Aerospace, found their US home in Mentor after multiple interactions with our offices and our abilities to make beneficial connections for them. Our discussions will concentrate on the particulars of our region, local organizations and actors that may be beneficial to UK companies, and our concierge-based approach to assisting companies looking to establish a foothold in the United States.
