Data-led team elevates sustainability excellence

Aero-structures and engineering specialist, Brookhouse Aerospace, continues to demonstrate sustainability compliance and excellence with its achievement of ISO14001:2015 accreditation.

The build to print manufacturer delivering expertise in civil and defence aerospace sectors, involves team members from across the whole business to support development and implementation of its sustainability strategy.

“Everyone is involved in our ‘people-powered’ drive to optimise sustainability”, says Dave Fletcher, HSE Manager at Brookhouse Aerospace. “Team members from all areas of the organisation work together on an ongoing basis, to understand requirements, monitor performance and explore opportunities.”

Recent sustainability developments at Brookhouse have included enhancement of waste segregation procedures, and investment into new, improved employee welfare facilities.

Data plays a key role in determining areas of focus for sustainability at Brookhouse, as Dave explains: “Having a comprehensive dashboard of readily available, up-to-date information really helps to inform decision making.

“By integrating data such as production hours, energy usage and CO2 emissions, for example, we can identify trends and make projections on the impact of any changes, prior to implementation.”

Looking ahead the business – which specialising in aero-structure composites, fabrication, machining, treatments and engineering – has a roadmap in place to also achieve ISO45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) and ISO50001 (Energy Management System) within the next two years.
