LORD LIEUTENANT PRESENTS HURST GREEN PLASTICS WITH KING’S AWARD FOR ENTERPRISE
The Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, Mrs Amanda Parker JP, presented Mrs Julie Monaco, Accounts Director of Hurst Green Plastics, with The King’s Award for Enterprise’s winner trophy in recognition of the company’s achievement of the Innovation category for its ‘TwinBin Live’ system on Friday 12th September.
The presentation took place at BAE Systems’ Warton Aerodrome, which utilises Hurst Green Plastics’ acclaimed TwinBin Live to manage stock materials and fasteners, enabling stock to be quickly and easily replenished, enhancing efficiency and productivity.
Hurst Green Plastics is a family-owned business, based in Whalley, Lancashire, which has been trading for over 45 years, operating across global industries including aerospace, rail, electronics, engineering and healthcare. Recognised for its innovation, TwinBin Live is Hurst Green Plastics’ unique patented storage system designed to simplify stock control and inventory management in the manufacturing sector.
After greeting invited local dignitaries and guests at BAE Systems, Hurst Green Plastics’ Managing Director Tommy Sharples and BAE Systems’ Technology & Operations Lead Dave Holmes gave The Lord Lieutenant and her Deputies Mr Robert Parker DL and Professor Miranda Barker OBE DL, an in-depth insight into their businesses.
Following this, The Lord Lieutenant was given a tour of the ‘Factory of the Future’ at BAE Systems and demonstration of its award-winning innovations.
After the tour, the Lord Lieutenant gave a short address in which she congratulated Hurst Green Plastics and presented the King’s Award for Innovation the trophy to Mrs Julie Monaco, Accounts Director, who accepted the award on behalf of Hurst Green Plastics and gave a short speech of thanks.
