ATG® Achieves EcoVadis Platinum Status, Joining the Top 1% of Companies Worldwide

Recognition reflects the company’s long-term commitment to sustainability, responsible business practices and continuous improvement

ATG®, a global designer, developer and in-house manufacturer of premium premium hand protection solutions, has achieved EcoVadis Platinum status, the highest level of recognition awarded by the globally recognised sustainability ratings platform, placing ATG® in the top 1% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis worldwide.

The achievement reflects ATG®’s continued commitment to responsible business practices, environmental stewardship and long-term sustainable growth. Assessed across Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement, EcoVadis evaluates not only policies and commitments, but also the measures, reporting, certifications and performance outcomes that demonstrate how sustainability is embedded throughout an organisation.

For ATG®, the recognition represents an important milestone in a journey that has been shaped by continuous improvement for more than three decades.

“Some organisations aim to tick boxes. We focus on continuous improvement.

That mindset shapes the way we approach sustainability, responsible business practices and long-term performance. While we are proud to achieve EcoVadis Platinum status, we view it as a milestone rather than a destination. Our objective remains the same as it has always been: to keep improving.”

Unlike most other PPE glove manufacturers, ATG®, as a fully integrated manufacturer,  maintains control over every stage of production, from raw material processing and knitting through to coating, washing, packaging and distribution. This integrated manufacturing model provides visibility, accountability and the ability to continuously improve operational performance across the organisation.

The EcoVadis assessment reflects a broad range of initiatives, certifications and performance management systems that support ATG®’s sustainability strategy, including

  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification,
  • ISO 14064-1 greenhouse gas verification,
  • Product Life Cycle Assessments conducted in accordance with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 methodologies,
  • Product Carbon Footprint reporting,
  • SMETA 4-Pillar ethical trade audits,
  • LEED Gold certification for the company’s Wathupitiwala manufacturing facility,
  • SGS recognition as an ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Role Model
  • Participation in the United Nations Global Compact.

These systems are supported by measurable operational outcomes. In 2025, renewable energy accounted for more than 50% of electricity consumption, greenhouse gas emission intensity was reduced by 51%, 100% of waste was diverted from landfill and recycled water usage increased by 21%. ATG® also continued to expand circular economy initiatives that transform manufacturing by-products into valuable secondary resources, including recycled rubber products, organic fertiliser and paint for use in the communities local to their facilities in Sri Lanka.

Sustainability is embedded throughout ATG®’s operations and product development processes. Through Product Lifecycle Management, Life Cycle Assessment and Product Carbon Footprint measurement, the company continues to evaluate and reduce environmental impacts while maintaining the comfort, durability and protection standards expected from ATG® hand protection solutions.

The company credits the achievement to the collective efforts of employees across the business whose commitment and dedication continue to drive progress.

ATG® is honoured to receive EcoVadis Platinum status, but views it as a milestone rather than a destination. Independent assessments like this provide valuable validation, and a reminder that the commitment to improve, for the benefit of employees, customers, partners and communities, never stops.
