Blickle’s Extended ErgoMove Range is Strengthening Aerospace Manufacturing by Enabling Safer and More Controlled Movement of High-Value Assemblies

Blickle’s electric drive system, ErgoMove, continues to gain traction across aerospace environments, where the movement of heavy, delicate, or high-precision components demands both ergonomic support and uncompromising safety.

The latest extensions to the range build on the platform’s core capability: powered drive support as well as both brake and steer assistance, allowing operators to manoeuvre loads of up to 4 tonnes with minimal physical effort. This is particularly valuable in aerospace settings where tight production cells, complex tooling, and sensitive components make traditional tugs or forklifts impractical.

A key advantage for aerospace users is the system’s integrated electro-mechanical deadman brakes, which prevent uncontrolled movement and significantly reduce risk during handling operations. These brakes, combined with intuitive cockpits support safer workflows around engine modules, composite structures, and precision tooling, where accidental motion can lead to costly damage or operator injury.

To support extended internal logistics routes, Blickle also offers towable drive castor configurations, enabling longer-distance transfer of equipment while maintaining controlled braking and smooth running. This makes the system suitable for a wide range of aerospace applications, including engine stands, autoclave-transfer trolleys (for movement to and from the autoclave, though not inside), tooling platforms, assembly fixtures, and other bespoke handling solutions used throughout aerospace manufacturing.

Across these use cases, the extended ErgoMove range provides a consistent set of benefits: reduced operator strain, improved manoeuvrability in confined spaces, and enhanced safety through intelligent braking and traction control. As aerospace manufacturers continue to prioritise ergonomic handling and process reliability, ErgoMove’s modular, scalable drive systems are becoming an increasingly valuable asset on the production floor where conventional powered systems require a significantly greater footprint when manoeuvring.
